Your plug-in might come in a .zip or .rar (see below), you must first extract the file before continuing. Your plug-in may also have to be installed. If this is the case, install the plug-in and restart Photoshop. If not, simply copy the .8bf file to:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Presets\Plug-Ins\You must restart Adobe Photoshop before the plug-in will appear. After restarting, the plug-in should be listed under the 'Filters' menu.
Move the .abr files to:
\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Presets\Brushes\ Open the brushes palette. Click the small downward pointing arrow in the upper right corner of the palette. Choose 'Load Brushes...' and select your file.
Move the .aco files to:
\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Presets\Color Swatches\
Open the 'Swatches Palette.' Click the small downward pointing arrow on the top right of the pallette. Choose 'Load Swatches...' and select your file.
Move the .asl files to:
\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Presets\Styles\
Open the layers palette. Click the small downward pointing arrow on the top right of the palette. Choose 'Load Styles...' and select your file.
Move the .atn files to:
\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Presets\Photoshop Actions\
Open the 'Actions Palette.' Click the small downward pointing arrow on the top right of the pallette. Choose 'Load Actions...' and select your file.
Move the .csh files to:
\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Presets\Custom Shapes\
Hold down the shape tool, and select the 'Custom Shape Tool'. Click the downward pointing arrow by the right of the current shape displayed on top. Once the 'Custom Shape Picker' window is open, click the right pointing arrow in the upper right corner. Choose 'Load Shapes...' and select your file.
Move the .grd files to:
\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Presets\Gradients\
Select the gradient tool. Click the small thumbnail of the current gradient on the menu bar. Once the 'Gradient Editor' is open, choose 'Load' on the right, and select your file.
Move the .pat files to:
\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Presets\Patterns\
On the fill menu, click the small downward pointing arrow to the right of the current pattern. Then, on the top right of the window, click the small right pointing arrow. Choose 'Load Patterns...' and select your file.
In order to properly use renders, you must first download them to your hard drive. You can not simply copy a render to the clipboard. Once the file is on your hard drive just open it in Photoshop as you would with any image. A render is nothing more than a modified image.
Most font files come in a .zip or .rar package (see below). You must first extract the file to your computer, you can not directly install the font from the .zip or .rar file. Once the file is on your hard drive, move it to the following directory: \Windows\Fonts\ A loading bar should appear quickly. You must restart Photoshop before your font will appear.
These are not resources, they are more like containers the resources come in. You must have decompression software (we recommend 7zip) to get the files out of their compressed state. Once they are visible on your hard drive, follow the guide above according to the file's extension.
